Hi. I am an older lady who spends a lot of time alone and I have suffered from depression and anxiety for a very long time. I must admit that I am struggling with this lockdown. I am sick of myself and finding it difficult to stay motivated to do much. I know what I should do to stay positive but find it difficult to get up and go. On the positive side, I have cooked some healthy food today.

Hi Bella d and a very warm welcome to the forums. I imagine it would be very hard in lockdown if you already experience mental health challenges. It’s great that you’ve done something positive for yourself today though, good on you.

There are plenty of threads here on the forums to read or join in on if you feel you might like that. Some of us come here to feel less alone.

What sorts of things do you enjoy doing to keep busy? I wonder if it would help to set up some kind of routine if you haven’t already.

Hope to hear more from you. Katy 🙂

Hello Bella, and a warm welcome.

I don't think you are any different to most people, one week we're in lockdown, then next week we are given some freedom, only to be locked up once again the next week, nobody knows what's going to happen, but one way or another we will conquer this virus, it's just getting there that's the difficult part.

I bet what you have cooked would be anyone's dream to munch into, however, have you thought about buying one of these programs that only cost a few dollars a month and you can have the first month free, there are thousands of all types of movies you can watch and have no ads, just type this into your search browser 'free full movies to watch on netflix'.

Good luck.

Geoff.

Hi Bella

I'm struggling with the lockdown too. But my problem is at the other end of the spectrum - I'm overwhelmed by the presence of my family 24/7. Too much noise & action. I cannot feel a sense of calmess. I cannot relax in my own home. I long for some alone-time.

Maybe we can just swap places?! Haha. (I hope you are smiling/laughing from reading this!!)

Take care.
