Hi Wardy,
Welcome to the forum and the community here. Not sure if you have already had a look around at some of the other threads here. I have a thread called DEPRESSION: Fight it or Embrace it. Recently I have tried to add some dot points to the thread to help with learning what helps with depression.
If you don't mind, would you feel comfortable answering a few questions so we can help you further? If this is too imposing for you, then that is fine.
Have you been suffering from depression for long?
Have you been diagnosed with depression, do you see anyone for counselling?
Are there some things that you have tried to help yourself with?
What are you struggling with the most in regards to your depression?
Things I find helpful with my depression include trying to keep busy, idle time makes my mind wander to negatives too quickly.
I'm trying to accept some days are just going to have me feeling depressed, the more I fight that the more I feel depressed, so acceptance is better.
Reading books if I am at home helps as does writing out what is bothering me.
Trying to understand what triggers my depression helps a little as well.
Once again, welcome Wardy, hope you feel comfortable here!
Cheers from Dools
