not 100% sure how to use these forums yet so bear with me, but i thought i'd introduce myself. i turned 18 recently and have been living with mental illness for as long as i can remember. i have mdd, bpd and adhd, and am trying to cope with chronic ideation and harm. asking for help and reaching out have never been easy for me so i try to support others using my lived experience almost as an alternative. living has been very difficult lately but i'm trying to hold on.

i hope anyone who reads this is having a good day. 🙂

Hey there, thanks so much for your post and welcome to our forums! It's a pleasure to meet you.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles with mental illness. I understand your reservations about seeking help - sometimes it's so difficult to reach out to other people. I think it's great that you're using your lived experience to support others too, that's fantastic.

Do you have anything specifically that you'd like to ask us, share, or need advice with? We're here to listen and support you. 🙂

Take care, SB

Hello, it's good to have you and thanks for joining.

Sometimes when we try and help others it isn't so easy, although our intent may be good, however, our frame of mind might not allow us to talk to them when they need it.

You seem to be trying to cope with many issues and sometimes one of these illnesses may be more prominent than the others, while the next day it could be completely reversed, making your situation confusing and may not know how to address these problems.

You can also contact Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800 by phone, web chat or online as well if that suits you, but hope you can get back to us.

Geoff.
