Hi WB, welcome
There is no magic answer to anxiety. However I did almost eliminate it over the course of 22 years or so.
Beyondblue topic anxiety how I eliminated it

In terms of employment I often ask posters to consider part time work, 2 jobs even both part time. Reason is 8 hours or more for us with MI is rarely sustainable. We find it hard to tolerate the same people for that time, the same pressure etc. 2-4 hours in one job is enough then have a change of scenery for the next job etc.
Something to consider. Thanks for posting. Repost anytime

Hi Writer's Block,
Welcome to the community here. Please know yo are welcome to share as much or as little as you like.
If you don't mind me asking, do you have a Dr who is helping with your anxiety and other issues? You mentioned medication, some times, unfortunately it can take a few tries at different medications before we find one that suits. I do understand the issue with side effects! We sometimes have to weigh up what is worth it!
Hopefully you can have some open discussions with your partner regarding your whole situation. Would you consider, or is, couples counselling and option?
Relationships Australia may be able to provide some suggestions.
Hope you feel welcome here!
Cheers from Dools

Hi WB, thanks for posting your comment.
You seem to have a few issues affecting you and if nothing is going the right way that's 'when it's not anxiety entirely, people close to you jump to that conclusion', so is your situation going around in circles all the time.
There are many different types of medication, I tried about half a dozen before the doctor found the right one that suited me.
I know that this is annoying having to try one after the other, but as soon as there is one for you it does make a huge difference.
Counselling with medication seems to unlock those enormous doors, where we seem to go down another path, because if we go down the same way we once were going then all those problems keep confronting us.
Best wishes.
Geoff.
