Hi FB22
Welcome to Beyond Blue forums. Loneliness is a very common problem and the solution lies within yourself. You know yourself better than anyone else, what you like and what interests you. I would suggest joining a club of some sort.
In WA they have groups called Men’s Sheds where they do woodwork and metalwork which are very popular and social.
There are many different community groups such as photography, art, music, drama, mosaics, sport, computers. The list is endless, but all depends on what interests you.
Another suggestion is to get yourself a pet of some sort. They are excellent company and if you have a dog you can take them for a walk which gets you out and can be quite a social activity.
I joined two community groups one is fishing and the other is learning to play the ukulele which keeps me busy and I also have a little dog who is as good as a best friend.
Put your thinking cap on and I’m sure you will come up with something to try.
Good luck and hope this has been of some help.

Hello FB22...
A very warm and caring welcome to our forums,
I am deeply sorry that your feeling so lonely and for the loss you have been through...
I am a 65 year old widow, now for 8 years and still finding loneliness very hard to manage...I have Anxiety, depression, PTSD an a few more so called labels..but it’s my anxiety and PTSD that keeps me at home most days....
My Dr. suggested I try some volunteer work to get me out of my house to have some social interaction...I did find a volunteer job, only one day a week..that’s all I can manage to, it has helped with the loneliness on that day...
Im wondering if you have a men’s shed around your area, where you can go along and chat to other men, it’s also a place that you could learn new skills or teach the other men your skills....Maybe that could be something you could try....(only if you want to)...after all these lockdowns are over.....Just my thoughts dear sir..
You are so very much welcome to talk here anytime you want to..here (BB)..helps me feel not so lonely when I’m overwhelmed by that feeling...
My kindest thoughts dear FB22, we are here for you with our care and support..
