Introducing myself

Hi, so I have been experiencing a series of unfortunate events, and live a very stressful life right now. I could just really use a place to vent some of my frustrations and feelings as I don't have access to a reliable source of psychological or social support.

Hi Anonymously1,

Welcome and thank you for letting us know what you need. I'm sorry to hear you are going through a difficult time, life can be really hard on us at times, we all get that, so vent away, it's why we are here.

Is there something particular you would like to talk about?

Do you have ways of dealing with the stress?

If you prefer not to expand, that's ok too. Perhaps reading some posts and joining in conversations that interest you would be helpful. You can also make use of the help line by phone or chat when you feel the need.

We are here for you, you are not alone.

Hi Indigo and mmMekitty,

Thank you both for your responses, it is much appreciated!

So, it's a heavy topic that I am unsure is appropriate to discuss in this forum, or if I should go to another. It involves a recent sexual assault. I have been through a DV situation which ended in early this year, so in terms of coping mechanisms, I have just been using the same ones that I used to address this issue. However, it seems I have become very lonely, which is normal when people go through traumatic experiences. I have additionally a lot of academic stress, which has unfortunately made it hard for me to find the time to exercise regularly and visit my mental health professionals.

I will read through peoples experiences here and on different forums to try to manage all these feelings.

Hi Anonymously1,

I am so sorry to hear what you have been through, there are many here that can relate.

The best part of the forum for discussions on this would be 'PTSD and Trauma' and I am sure you will find posts there that may help you or you can start your own. This is a very safe and non judgmental place to talk things through with people who have been through similar experiences. By joining conversations that you can relate to, you will find support and suggestions to help you move forward. I wish you all the best on your healing journey and hope you are feeling better soon.

Sending you a big hug,
