I have survived the most horrific 10 year bout of spousal abuse I know live in a house with a granny flat my parents live there and they way they are treating me is 1000% worse than the beatings I suffered the mentally abuse they are giving me is beyond words I can explain I don't think I can make it through this I'm dying. We jointly own the property with a bank lone which in 3
names mean they can take money out and loans against the house which they have done
i am poor due to my diagnosesd anxiety ptsd agoraphobia and depression I can't leave then my children will have no home as I can't afford one I have to choose between homelessness or my sanity I would get no money through the sale of the house due to the fact of the loans they took at. Put it this way they have so much control I have not checked my own letter box in years nor can I walk from my car from my house without verbal abuse he was screaming so badly today I had uncontrollable vomiting I'm sad I'm sacred I'm broken help

Hi Brokenme,
We are sorry to hear that your journey has been such a difficult one for you. Please know that you are not alone in this and there is a lot of support out there. We are writing to you as we are concerned about your wellbeing. We feel that if you are at risk of self-harm or if you are feeling suicidal, we would strongly urge you to seek professional help as it is really important that you take immediate steps to keep yourself safe. You can do this by:
- Speaking to your doctor if he or she is not available right now
-Attending the Emergency Department of your local hospital
-If you feel unable to keep yourself from acting on your thoughts about suicide or self-harm this is an emergency and you need to call 000 (triple zero).
We would also encourage you to call our Support Service on 1300 22 4636. We can help 24 hours a day, seven days a week with counselling support, information and referrals. We can arrange for you to be taken to hospital too if you are at immediate risk of suicide or self-harm.

Hi and welcome Brokenme;
Your situation certainly sounds dire. I'm sorry you're in this predicament and am glad Sophie has suggested support services you may want to take advantage of.
10 yrs of spousal abuse on its own is enough to recover from let alone the abuse you're experiencing from your folks. If leaving the house due to agoraphobia's too scary, your phone is the next best thing to connect with people who can assist.
Legal Aid (or a private solicitor depending on finances) comes to mind for the mortgage issue, so if you request a phone consult they hopefully will be able to find a way to protect your interest in the house. If you didn't sign off on the loan, there could also be legal avenues of addressing it.
Dealing with the verbal abuse; the police may help or put you in touch with an agency that can. There's always resources out there to approach in this day and age.
I can imagine how difficult it would be to stand up for yourself as years of beatings makes a person feel small and insignificant. I really feel for you. Your parents are people first though and need to recognise when they've crossed the line. If you can't speak up for yourself then get someone who can. This is where police and legal rep's come in handy.
I'm also concerned for your kids in all this. How are they coping? Community Services in your state can support you with finding balance where they're concerned. If your parents pose a risk to them, CS rep's will intervene for the best outcome.
Please don't feel your situation's a lost cause because it's not ok. As I said, your phone is your best friend at this point. There's a mental health crisis hotline in each state, so please consider calling them for advice and referral. I'm sure your GP will talk via phone if they realise how desperate you are.
Please don't forget Lifeline on 131114; they're genuinely caring souls who'll give you space to talk one on one about how you feel.
I'm here most days and will welcome your posts with open arms. I'm in your corner ok.
Kind thoughts;
