Hi.
im new here. Currently living with my 2 kids. I’ve been separated for around 18 months and I’m feeling so lonely at the moment. I’m so emotional all the time and I’m not good at reaching out to friends for help.
i feel like I need to talk to someone professional but it’s not possible at the moment.
not sure what to do but just needed to talk to someone so thought I would vent here.
thanks c

HI Neats,
Welcome to Beyond Blue and well done for reaching out.
Grieving a lost relationship is hard at anytime, but then when you add into it the pandemic situation where we are not really allowed to go out and socialize, can certainly magnify all those feeling of grief and loss and loneliness.
May I ask if you are on any social networking sites? Like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, for example? They can be a great place to share little thoughts, moments, pictures and the like, and yet still be safe at home. I know that I found some of the groups on Facebook, for example, to be a great help when my marriage was in meltdown. In fact, I reckon that to a significant degree they even helped to save me from going completely mad.
Of course, there are also some some online sites, such as Mood Gym (https://moodgym.com.au/home) where you can learn to manage the symptoms of depression and anxiety, from the comfort of your own home.
Of course, there are also a few different pages here on Beyond Blue: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/personal-best/pillar/supporting-yourself where there are many hints and tips on how to manage when life gets hard.
In the meantime, we are all here for you and with you as you navigate your way through this difficult time.
Take care. I'll be thinking of you. xo
