Hi,

not sure where to start really! I was diagnosed with anxiety about 3 years ago. The dr put me straight on medication and I was on it for 3 months then was taken off it. It did wonders honestly, and since I have been able to manage it over the years, but the past couple of months it's reared its ugly head and I haven't been able to get a hold on it. I've been having anxiety attacks going to the shop and at work. I've had many days off because of it. Anyway..... I'm seeing a phsychologist for the first time soon which I hope really helps. I have underlying issues with vertigo as well and feeling dizzy with anxiety is making it one vicious cycle.

Hi Tiger04,

I just replied to your other post. Didn't realise you were a newbie! Anyway, welcome to the forums. I'm sure you'll find it very informative and supportive. Taking the first step takes a lot of courage, so good on you for planning on seeing a psychologist! Hoping it all goes well for you. If you want to talk some more, I'm always happy to listen.

Take care of yourself,

Mia

hello Tiger, I'm sorry to hear this but I would definitely go back to your doctor and ask whether or not you should start the medication once again, and whether any other tests need to be done. Geoff.

Hi Geoff thanks for replying.

My dr referred me to a psychologist first before wanting to start meds. I'm getting bloods done to rule out any other issues and an ecg. I recently had an MRI and ct scan done too (waiting results)

Hi Tiger, it sounds like anxiety is stopping you getting on with life and doing even the simple things like going to the shops. The thought of this happening must be quite scary and perhaps stop you attempting things? Perhaps medication is not such a bad idea. Is vertigo and dizziness a sign of stress/anxiety? I seem to have read this somewhere. I was having a lot of physical symptoms last year, bloating, severe discomfort in stomach. Doctors found nothing and I put it down to extreme stress at that time. Always a good idea to rule other things out. I was put on antidepressants years ago and it has helped me. I hated the idea and avoided it for a long time but life without them is too difficult.
