Hi, I'm LC

Hi, I'm Catherine and online I'm known as LC. I separated from my husband in December last year and am now starting to really go through the stages.

We were together 15 years, married 5. Jumped into the relationship very quickly, had issues early, tried to work through them, had our ups and downs and after say 10 years we were in issues, i fell into depression and anxiety as did the hubby and by the end we realised we were both in serious denial anything was wrong. Seperated under a mutual agreement as we are both in our 30s, I want children and he doesn't.

I'm 33 now living on my own and as much as I love it, I only just started to realise that i'm on my own, my friends all have kids so they are busy at night and theres no-one who'll go out and have fun and be single with me. The head won't stop going at a thousand miles an hour.

I'm not paying attention as much and work is noticing as well as me in every day life.

Anyway, I'm rambling now.

hi LC, obviously one of the main problems was that you wanted to have kids and he didn't, which is a great reason for an argument and then cause a separation.
Parents with children doesn't mean it's all fun and games, it's hard work, expensive but we never think about expense when we have kids, nor do we think about all the travelling to and fro from sports games, practice training, looking after other kids as a favour, who is going to look after the kids on school holidays, and the list goes on, and I'm not suggesting that having kids is not worthwhile, because I have two sons and wouldn't be without them.
You grow older quicker, but at the moment can you join your friends who still might like to take a breather while their hubby looks after the kids. Geoff.

Hi LC

Welcome to the forums and good on you posting too!

I understand with coming out of a relationship and 'realizing' that we are on our own and the feeling can be isolating especially after such a long relationship and marriage too

Geoff has been on here for years and has great advice above

You are still super young LC. Having any anxiety or depression feels like crap. Ive had both after a relationship too

When our minds race at 1000klms/hour is understandable after such a long relationship. I know the feeling.

Overthinking can really make our lives really difficult. After getting counseling I learned that when my mind was going that fast I really needed a break.

you are not alone here

my kind thoughts for you

Paul
