Being surrounded by nasty people is a recipe for depression, whether it's family, friends and/or workmates, it doesn't matter any of these will only increase the pressure on you causing depression.
There's no need to tell you what it will do to you, we all know how devastating and controlling it can be, destroy our lives, jobs, or any friends we once had, as they turn their backs on us and then disappear leaving you all alone to suffer by yourself.
There are
We don't want you to suffer and even if the advice we give you now, is not so beneficial, it's something to always remember, but we hope that we can talk with the two of you. Geoff.

Hello Ginda and Zygo
Welcome to both of you to Beyond Blue. I am sorry you have waited this long for a reply. Sometimes post slip through the cracks, which is not helpful I know. We are here now.
I also have a black dog to manage and find it difficult at times. Talking about it here can be very helpful and definitely helps to stop the lid blowing off when too much 'stuff' gets bottled up.
Do either of you have any professional help? That is a good way to get through depression and learn management strategies.
Working with unkind people is very hard. Is there any possibility of changing jobs? It always seems unfair that when someone is being bullied they are the people who find new jobs, not the bullies. Here we care for everyone no matter who they are or what their problem is. We have all experienced hurt and disappointment as part of our mental health journeys and can understand your hurt.
Would you like to talk about your own journey's? Is there any particular part of your lives you want to share. Remember you are safe here. What do you do, both at work and away from work? I retired from paid work, instead getting involved in volunteer work. I think I work as many hours as I did before. I like reading, meditation, belong to a book club and meditation group, sewing for my grandchildren and embroidery. Well, when I get time I do these things.
Love to hear from you again.
Mary
