so I'm new here took the quiz scored high but I already knew I would.
I can not remember a time I was not depressed.
Ive tried to get help correct n the past only to be told by the doctor that at my age I should know how to cope.
Changed doctors but can't seem to bring it up again with the new doctor had my obgyn send a letter to current doctor saying I needed help with depression but my doctor has never bought it up so I doubt he ever read it.
Think I'm at my wits end just so over everything wishing it would all just stop.

Hey 4evablu,
I'm sorry to hear you're in a lot of distress at the moment. It can be hard to bring things up and lots of thoughts can run through our heads about why we shouldn't, but the most important thing is that you do speak up.
It is possible that the new doctor hasn't read it, or that they're waiting for you to bring it up.
Can you get a copy of that letter and hand it to the new doctor? Or even print off this page and show it to them?
I understand how much it can really hurt and how little energy you sound like you have, but it's still up to us to get the ball rolling so others will notice that we are struggling. You've done a great job already at this by coming here onto these forums and posting.
I hope you can reply to us here because we've been through similar things and want to help you.

Thanks for the reply James1.
You are right I have little to no energy to work on these things for myself I'm pretty much a lost cause.
I spend so much time and energy trying to get my sons the help they need and failing that by the time it comes to me I'm just like pfft whatever.
Ive tried talking to my doctor but can't physically bring myself to do it I make appointments to do so then cancel them.
Ive tried to talk to my husband about this too asked him to just make me go say we are gonna go shopping or sumthing n then just happen to end up at the doctor's etc.
Im just being lame I know I should be able to do this stuff for myself and I'm just lazy in not doing so

Hey,
You're trying so hard to be a good parent and that's really admirable considering everything you've got going on.
When you try to tell your husband, what happens? Does he actually know you are struggling with these issues before and have you spoken to him about it?
It would be awesome if he could help you make some of these appointments and then support you with them.
You're not lame at all or lazy. You're struggling with a mental illness that makes indifference and inaction very attractive. But you're coming here to tell us about it and replying here, and trying to fight off that inaction.
If you like, you can also have a read of other people's threads. I think it will be useful because you'll find that a lot of people are struggling like you - people of all ages. So it's not a matter of being "old enough" to deal with this. There's no such thing - mental illness does not discriminate.
