Feeling lost and lonely

Guest_9985

Hi Everyone,

I've never done this before...I am suffering from a health condition which has limited my life dramatically and I am feeling lonely and sad.  I wanted to see if there was anyone wanting to be friends.  I live in Sydney - and can't get out much but would love a few people to chat with and laugh with.  I miss my old fun self.

Hello,

Warm welcome to the forums!!!

Very sorry to hear about your health challenges. Please don't feel lonely and sad, we are here to support you.

I would love to be your Friend, giving you a virtual hug🤗🫂. If you feel like, you can share what makes you happy or laugh out loud?

You have taken the first big step of connecting with people in this forum, very proud of you.

Happy to listen and chat if you feel like sharing more, take care...

Warm hugs to you

Hello, I'm in the same boat as you: restricted life, also in Sydney, looking for friends

this forum is quite restrictive though: we are all anonymous, everything is public, and sharing personal information is not allowed, so it's not an ideal place to make "friends" as such

there are other places online that are better suited to that objective though and not too hard to find

Thank so much for your reply - oh what a bummer I didn’t realise you couldn’t connect with people.  That makes it really hard doesn’t it.

im sorry to hear your on the same boat.  Do you have a family?

Thanks for the reply - I just realised this isn’t really a place to connect with people to get to know them…more of a public forum.

thanks for the offer to listen though I really appreciate it

it's interesting that there just isn't really a genuine peer-support community in Australia

I think I know why that's the case, but it's probably better that I not mention it

my family have demonstrated how much they care about me by throwing me to the wolves, my own mother included
