Hello
i have depression and anxiety. Been on medication for...18 years. These days I am numb or very down. I’ve lost interest in most things and just enjoy sleeping. I work hard but hate it. Not sure what else to say. It’s difficult working with people each day when your mood is so low.

Hi I remember joy and welcome,
It sounds as though you have walked a tough, long road. I'm sorry and particularly sorry that things are really tough right now.
I'm wondering how you might feel about going to see your GP for a good chat. It sounds like a good time to review your treatment plan.
I hope it's okay to ask but do you have a psychologist or psychiatrist to help you? In addition to medication, there are talk therapies that can help too.
I guess what I'm trying to say is don't give up. You matter and life can get better. Maybe not perfect, but better.
You are not alone. Please feel free to post any time. Kind thoughts to you

It is a valid thread and one which people in depression often wonder, but when you have been in this for 18 years and the days never seem to get any better, then you need to grab hold of someone and say 'hey please help me I'm not getting any better'.
This
Some people may suggest doing some exercise, although I did enjoy swimming but only if I was picked up and are you able to have any holidays?
Please keep talking to us, as your thread opens up a little more we can offer you some more help.
Geoff.

Hi I remember joy,
Would you like to share with us some of the things in life that brought you joy in the past.
Is it possible to incorporate any of those things in your life now?
My psychologist kept reminding me to try to do something pleasurable each day even when I didn't feel like doing it. Our minds then start to feel better slowly.
Can you think of just one thing you can do today that might help to lift your mood?
Cheers from Dools
