Depression, Anxiety & BPD...any other methods?

Hi, i've been struggling with depression for quite some time. I was originally diagnosed with major depressive disorder but have recently been diagnosed with BPD. It's a relief in some ways and have been working hard to learn to live with it but still find my depression takes over. How do others cope when coping strategies don't seem to have effect and finding it hard to reach out to others?

Hi wildorchid,

Welcome to the forums and thank you for being a part of this kind, open and welcoming community. We are really sorry to hear that you have been struggling with depression and major depressive disorder, that must be really tough. It sounds like you are linked in with some clinical support which is wonderful. We can totally understand how having a diagnosis can be a relief, it is good to be able to try and understand these complex conditions within ourselves. Our journey towards positive mental health is just that, a journey, and sometimes we feel worse before we feel better.

We want you to know it is ok not to feel ok, and that you don’t have to go through this alone. If you ever want to talk to someone, you can call us on 1300 22 4636. One of our specialist counsellors can then chat to you about strategies to help in the moment, as well as where in the community you can get other support.
