Hi I’m new I have PTSD have for many years had stacks of different diagnoses. Anyway was after a little advise.Have recently moved states and have tried getting help. I had an assessment appt a month ago and they said they would let me know the next week. They haven’t I’ve phoned once a week for the past two weeks and they say they will get someone to call me but no one ever does. Now I don’t know if I should keep trying or if that seems like I’m harassing them. You know attention seeking. I just don’t have a clue what to do I’m struggling but I don’t want to be a annoying. Anyway thanks

Hello,

Good on you for reaching out here. I feel for you...I imagine it has been very disappointing and disheartening that they haven’t followed through with their promises. I feel that would be very frustrating and upsetting...

I think it’s admirable that you have been so proactive in trying to contact them. I absolutely don’t think you’re “annoying” them at all; you’re simply trying to talk to them so they will finally deliver the help that they promised. I think you have been very reasonable 🙂

If it comforts you a little...not to give them “excuses”, but I’m guessing maybe their unresponsiveness is partly due to maybe being understaffed or underfunded, rather than due to any other personal reason. Sadly, I think that’s often the case when it comes to mental health services...that being said, of course that doesn’t take away from the reality that they’re not following through, and that you’re not getting the help that you need...

I don’t know how you feel about this, but I would gently suggest maybe next time you call, politely ask to speak to a manager or supervisor. You can then explain what has happened to him or her...

It’s just that I sometimes find it helpful to speak to someone with more authority, as they have the power to “make things happen”, so to speak...just a gentle idea...

I’m thinking of you.

Kindness and care,

Pepper

Thanks Pepper

im sorry to have whinged here. It’s fine I’m sure if they thought it was important they would have gotten back to me as you say they are more than likely very busy with people who need help.

Thanks again it will all be good

Alwaysconfused,

I welcome you too the forum.

You were not whinging , you are trying to get some help as it must have been frustrating for you.

It is important that you get help.

Is it possible if you go over the clinic in person.
