Hi I'm a new member and I find this difficult.
are there any spaces on here to discuss managing anger? With me there are no violence issues, but I find it hard to stay calm and composed when things don't go my way
grateful for any pointers about where I can look on the forums.
thanks

Hi Brown Pelican,
Welcome to the forum!
While there isn't a specific section on this forum for discussing anger, there have been previous threads (conversations) on this topic. Here are some relevant forum links I've located:
https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/staying-well/penny-dropper--anger-issues#qlIFnHHzvGGEbv8AAOnT_A

https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/staying-well/helpful-strategies-for-anger#qjFf2XHzvGGEbv8AAOnT_A
There are more threads on anger, but these three are some that I would recommend.
I hope you enjoy using the forum 🙂
Best wishes,
Zeal

Hello Brown Pelican
Good on You for having the strength to post...it does take lot the first time for sure.
I posted a new thread called 'The Benefits of Posting on BB' in the Welcome and Orientation section...it will provide you with a lot of my background. (I really bared my bones on this thread to help others)...It was hard to write...big time
I used to get angry (as a form of unhealthy venting) prior to getting treated for depression in 1996.
I did snap and bite when I shouldnt have. I am happy to say that those days are now history as I have learned how to vent (blow off steam)after having a good cry with my counselor at the time....once I 'let go' of what I had swept under the rug for many years I felt like I had my life back
Zeal has recommended the best and most relevant threads so far.
There are many super kind people on the forums that can be here for you. Even if you just want a chat you are more than welcome to do so 🙂
My kind thoughts for you
Paul

Hi members,
I am generally seen as a patience and gentle person, however, there are certain incidences that I will loose my temper that I would swear, raise my voice or say a few nasty things. 3 years ago, I slapped my boyfriend twice when I found that he was cheating and lying to me, I knew that was wrong and I have not hit anyone since. However, I still felt like I have becoming another person that I don't want to be when I am angry, it was not good to loose my temper just because I am angry. I said things I regretted at my dad or just people who are providing customer services. It made me feel embarrassing afterward. Just wondering if anyone have any good strategies to keep calm and carry on.
Regards,
Monica R
