Am I being oversensitive?

My husband and I are having difficulties, I checked his Twitter and saw he re-tweeted this:

"Sex is like pizza: if you’re having it at Domino’s, it’s time to re-examine the choices you’ve made that led you here"

I'm offended and upset, but he blew it off as a joke about pizza. Can I please get a vote here if this is offensive or inoffensive? Am I being oversensitive?

Hi Mumofthreeboys,

I think it depends on the context. I have to be honest... I cannot see what the joke is, but I also cannot see how it would apply to real life. If he was joking about you then wouldn't he be talking about making your own pizza at home or frozen McCain's pizza?

I think in isolation it is nothing, however if there seems to be a trend where he is constantly "making jokes" about the topic in generic, then there may be something more to it.

I wouldn't take it as anything if this is all it was just the once

Mumofthreeboys,

it does depend on the context and how he treats you.
not knowing what he is like and your relationship I would take it as a joke but no 8ne I find funny or clever.

He retweeted it, meaning that he didn't write it himself?

It's a joke. Not particularly funny, but most of Twitter isn't. It's quite possible that you are being sensitive because you are having difficulties. Still, I wouldn't read anything too much into this.
