What is a Hypomanic Episode?

Hello all,

I was wondering if you could help me understand more about Hypomania (as in relating to Bipolar)? What does it feel like to go through and what makes it different from say other mental illnesses and mania? I know there is information on the internet, but it's a bit ambiguous and hard for me to really understand what the symptoms are and what it may look like in real life. Examples would be great.

Thank you in advance.

Hi!! I was reading about your concern with the high (bipolar), known as manic depressive, a good friend of mine for the past 30 years has this disorder. They will be a bit depressed at first, withdrawn. Next stage they will find it hard to sleep, than they will stay awake for days on end. You will notice that they are unwell, because they are having a personal high, that is out of the ordinary for them. Hope this helps! 🙂 I have spent many years seeing this behaviour. Help will be needed with them before it gets out of control! Good luck! 🙂
