Are you able to go to a hospital that is not where you live to voluntarily admit yourself? My area has one that is rated very badly and the other is over the border but I work in that hospital.
Thanks

Hi MegsyMessy,
Thanks for reaching out this afternoon. We're so sorry to hear that you're in this situation. We would recommend that you call your preferred hospital ahead of time to ask them of their current policies and capacity allowances.
If you need help navigating the system in your local area, we would recommend that you call the Beyond Blue Support Service. It operates 24/7 and one of our friendly counsellors can help you out with some advice and referrals that are specific to your local area. You can contact them on 1300 22 4636 or www.beyondblue.org.au/getsupport
If you find yourself at immediate risk, this is an emergency and we would urge you to contact 000 (triple zero).
Please also feel free to reach out here on your thread if you would like to talk through what you've been going through with community members who have had similar experiences.

Thank you for your replies. I have decided to go to a recovery house here in my home town, which has had very positive outcomes.
