Hey all,
I started on antidepressants on Wednesday, first time for me. And I developed tremors. The last time I took the med was Thursday, as the doc instructed me to stop them immediately. My tremors haven't subsided and it has been more than 48 hours.
I wonder, has anyone experienced this, does it go away?

Hi lookingforme,
I don't use meds for my psych conditions but I do for physiological ones. There can be a lag between time of ingestion and time of effect and/or symptoms, especially long term meds that are typically slow release, as opposed to things like panadol, which are rapid release.
I am sure someone on here with appropriate or similar experience will response to you.
In any case, book another appointment with the doctor. 🙂
Kind regards, John.

Hi Lookingforme
This totally happened to me with one of my old medications (when i reached a high dose) as well as insomnia and feeling like i had waaay to much coffee. Luckily i don't sleep with anyone otherwise i would have been whacking them all night! Even though I haven't been on that medication for 2 months i still occasionally get 'twitches' but they are so mild that they don't really bother me. I'm not sure what kind of explanation they give for this happening but i guess everyone reacts to medication differently.
hope you feel better soon

Hi All,
John: When the symptoms started I immediately made an appointment with my GP, thanks. I was just told they should subside in 48 hours, and it was longer when I posted this up. I understand about meds, it's just easier to be patient when it isn't you haha. Thanks for replying.
Little Pepper: Thanks so much for letting me know. I will learn to be patient, as I have hope they'll subside now, just a matter of time. It was driving me crazy on day 2, I had nothing to do but focus on my jaw chattering. May have been agitated as well. But yes, that feeling is exactly how I felt. I'm seeing my GP on Wednesday so hopefully I'll find out more. Thank you for replying.
Thanks guys 🙂
Joelle

Hi angANG,
I tried replying yesterday by Iphone but it doesn't seem to have gotten through.
I didn't say I used psych meds for physiological problems, I said, "I don't use meds for my psych conditions but I do for physiological ones." In essence, I was saying I have no experience with meds designed for psych issues, only for physical ones like my high blood pressure.
I hope this clarifies it.
Kind regards, John.
