Shifting away from medication

Curleee

Hi there

I have complex ptsd, some bipolar and some borderline symptoms (so said the psychiatrist).....

ive been on medication for the best part of 12 years.... I want to go off the medication..... I am not feeling any better or any worse than I have previously.... still plodding along with the piques and troughs.....

I’d appreciate knowing if anyone has gone off medication? I’m just feeling some of the side affects are frustrating me? And maybe if I started w a fitness trainer and a solid plan around stuff, that maybe I could go off medication.....

I know that any advice I’d be receiving isn’t from doctors (on this forum).... but I’d still appreciate any advice

thanks

mel

Thanks for letting us know how you are going and updating us on what is happening.

As Mrs Dools suggests talking to your doctor about changing from one medication to another.

I think it is good you are having discussion and are getting information about medications and how they affect you.

I hope you cope with the medication and hope it helps with your moods.

We are here to support you so feel post here whenever you want.

Just catching up on these messages now.
I have stayed on my depression medication the whole time. The psychiatrist wanted to ensure we had a benchmark, as to effectiveness.... so best not to go off existing drug and start new drug at same time
It's be a 2.5 months on bipolar meds and in the last 10 days I have noticed that some of the sharp edges of my bipolar (so to speak) are softening... well that is the outcome this week..... hopefully this stays
