Hi - it can take a while to get your memory back to normal.  I still have a lack of memory around the time that I was admitted.  however, my long term memory isnt too bad.  i had ect just over two years ago and i am a functional and stable person..so i guess it "works"..im guessing that being zombie like and having dull feelings for anything can be called 'functional' lol

all i can say is to support your wife, and dont try to rush the recovery ok - but i hope she gets better soon 🙂

Hi Bondi

I would really love to know how long it took your wife to recover as I am considering ect myself and the opinion of a partner/husband would be so important.

Thanks

Oh my god I'm so scared. I guess on one hand I have no other recourse but I have memories going back to 2yrs old, my mother alive....oh what a trade. I just don't know what to do.

Hello Bondi.....and for the response from kitkatsoppy....Thankyou Kitkat....legend...

Thankyou for having the courage (and then some) to post Bondi

I know this isnt any help to your wife as I dont know the answer to your question. I have had chronic anxiety for 13 years which has morphed into depression for another 20 years...with meds...etc etc..

This would be an awful time for you.....Im Paul...just one of the volunteers on the forums. I hope its okay if I extend an offer of help for you during this difficult time...

My brother had the same treatment back in the early 1980's and he was better afterwards.

You are not alone here Bondi.....there are many gentle people that can be here for you. Its a rock solid safe place to post....otherwise I wouldnt be here. Your privacy is paramount.

I really wish I could have been of more help to you Bondi...

My kind thoughts for you and your wife......we can be here for you...that I do know...

Paul
