Hi everyone,
My name is Justin, i'm current living in Brisbane and have been suffering from C PTSD, the symptoms i have been suffering from for the better part of the 5-6 years.
I find i'm not emotionally stable to engage with friends or family, or for that matter even be comfortable with myself. Memories of the recent past have kept recurring in my mind in the usual manner of PTSD and i find i am not emotionally or mentally stable to cope with them,
At this point i'm looking for a solution to reduce or remove the emotional problems and responses i have with my recurring thoughts. I'd like to know any medical treatments that could help me have a more balanced brain, i've looking into ECT and hormonal treatments and wondered if there's anything else i should look into.

dear Justin, I'd like to welcome you to this site and thank you so much for your comment.
I am so sorry that you are suffering from 'complex PTSD' and what has caused this we don't know, and only if you want to disclose part of it to us, is totally your decision, and you are NOT under any obligation at all to disclose it.
PTSD is caused from a situation that has been of such a terrible event or events, that we have recurring thoughts, which you know about and everyone else would realise.
My psychologist has told me that he would help me with my own PTSD and in the last year, it has hardly been mentioned.
I presume that you have searched the net but if you google, well it has to be 'PTSD' or 'C PTSD' there are posts from Sane and Reachout plus other sites which you can contact.
I haven't had ECT myself, but I'm suggesting that you don't rush into having this done, because there are many different outcomes from having this, so you can't be too sure what's going to happen with you, maybe I'm being too conservative.
I would be really interested how you go, as mine is going on 30 years, although now it doesn't cause me any harm. Geoff.
