Hi,
ive had major depression my whole life but only diagnosed a little ova 2 yrs ago. I'm having issues with trust regarding my ex psychiatrist, psychologist & now current dr who I can prove has lied. I'm the mentally ill one, I sound paranoid but I know I'm not. Has anyone have any advice? I'm struggling to find another psychiatrist & dr & am on a waiting list for psychologist.
many thanks

Hi Kell,
I have recently changed over my neurologist because I had no confidence in him and my physiotherapist because things were not improving and the replacements are terrific.
There was a wait for the neuro as he is a specialist and I think you will find a wait time with most specialists.
In terms of finding a GP that you trust, would you be a member of a facebook group in your local area, perhaps you could ask for recommendations. Alternatively perhaps you can search on the internet for well being clinics that have GPs and Psychiatrist, Psychologists etc in one place. "Like Minds" is an example of one.
You should feel comfortable with your medical team. I hope this helps.
Kind thoughts,
Carol

Hey Kell, welcome to Beyond Blue forums.
It sucks when you start to feel like someone isn't being honest and then you find out they aren't. That suspicion and then creep over to others 😞
The only option is to play the waiting game to get to see a new psych. I thin mean time try to recall the good parts of your sessions with the previous professionals about staying well. Use those tools you've learnt and take it easy on yourself.
Another thing that might help is to tell us all about what happened and how you feel about it.
What led you to suspect these people were lying to you and can you tell us more about it?
Hope to hear back soon.
Paul

Hi Paul, I found my psychiatrist to b bored of me, more interested in his harder patients. My psychologist did not understand me at all, yet we used too. My dr on the other hand I caught out lying more than once. Being the family dr she talks & what she says to me is not what she says or does actually when she talks to my mum. In saying that I've been going to her for nearly 10 yrs. dealing with me wld get tiring, repetitive but to reach out & ur dr basically shrugs & makes a reference to forest gump is ...hopeless. But I've gone to community mental health & will wait to c if they can help.
Thanks paul u have been very helpful

Hey Kell.
I understand now. Your GP and Psych do sound bored!
As you've said it's just a matter of waiting. If you urgently need to talk to someone there's the beyond blue support line (numbers at top and bottom of page)
What topics were your GP and Psych getting bored with?
