Hello Dear Redsox,
A very warm and caring welcome to our forums...
I am so sorry that you have been feeling this way....That was such a brave thing reaching out to your neighbour who is a GP....That was a very good first step to help you manage your depression and unhealthy thoughts...becoming a member here is another step towards your wellness..
Its great to hear that you will be seeing your Dr. tomorrow, and get a diagnosis for your mental health...and your GP can set you up with a mental health care plan....It’s really hard to be totally honest with them about our feelings and thoughts....,Please Redsox, although it’s hard to do so...it’s the only way your GO can properly help you the best he/she can...
I have depression/anxiety and PTSD..I can manage my depression and anxiety fairly well..but when it comes to my PTSD..that’s another story...certain things trigging me into a PTSD downer can arise at any time...My counsellor is helping me to manage that as well....PTSD is something that really does need professional help and guidance to manage...
I wish you good luck tomorrow..and if you feel up to it, please let us know how you go..
My kindest thoughts dear Redsox..
Grandy

You have many people here who support you.
I'm here if you want to chat.
