Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

Monday today.....Went for a walk to the supermarket this evening. 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back. The air was fresh and invigorating. I do like my face feeling slightly chilled. The walk back we cut across the rec area. The massive flood lights were on this was about 7:30pm. So I am guessing they had some kind of sport that just happened, and had not turn the lights off. The grass looked really green on the ovals, a deep line colour. Glad I walked out this evening

Went for a walk yesterday Tuesday.
It was up in the nearest town near mum. Mum went in for an appointment while I looked after sniffer/ runner dog. I walked with her right down the end of the slightly sloped street to the river at the bottom. I picked her up some as she wasn't keen to walk further away from where my mums was. I walked around near the river and then back up . The sunshine felt good and healing . There were quite a few shops along the way down and up. We also parked in the Coles carpark and walked to the local hospital which was about 15 minutes walk.

Thursday... Went walking while pushing little nephews pram. Is mumma was at an appointment in town. We started at the park just after we watched a chicken come pecking around us then jumping up on the picnic seat and eating small bits of ham. My little nephew was just staring at it.
We walked around in the park a little and the chicken followed us around. We then preceded up a concrete path between to stores. Once up there we turned right and headed along

Walked up to the supermarket and back yesterday afternoon. About a 40 minute walk there and back. Interesting when you go between 5 and 6 pm as there are so many aromas coming from the kitchen of the homes.

Sunday....
Walked around a large park today I walked three laps with my sister. It is quite a large park with many ovals, cricket pitch, netball courts, lovely green lush grass, croquet lawn and other sports fields. Takes about 1 1/2 hours almost 2 hours to walk 3 times around

Thursday... Today I walked through a suburb I haven't walked much in before. It was with my nephew and his mumma. There are a fair few old historical homes here some with beautiful gardens. And old trees with enormous sized tree trunks. We were walking into the next suburb to buy eggs from a boy farmer. It was a longish walk. Once we collected them we walked back and then in and around back streets. We passed small ponies and a horse in a paddock. The ponies were pretty cute. We came across a lemon tree with its branches hanging over the fence. And one backyard had a very old school bus in it. I looked at the that bus for a while. After this walk. I went on another shorter one with my little nephew whilst his mumma did some shopping. The walk took us into the local library, behind the library where there was a children's playground. I put my nephew into one of those baby swings where they sort of are buckled in. I am unsure if he liked it or not as I pushed him gently. We walk around this playground as well. Then I decided to walk to the op shop near by. We walked into the op shop where little one pulled a roll of clear wrapping from some where and unrolled it some. He had a nurse of a bear I think it was too.
