Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

Your salad is yummy Taurus...I forgot to tell you, about a week ago I made it, and shared with mates, it was scoffed down in delight! (I didn't have walnuts though, so used almonds instead, was great!)
Thank you for that!
Steamed Dims for me too!
You're doing so well sweetheart.
MuchLove to you!.

Hey Folks,
Bundy and I just got back from our evening walk.
Feeling good.
Dinner is leftovers and salad with Toasted Coconut yoghurt for dessert.
From tomoz I'm working at The Gabba Stadium for the cricket, and it's gonna be hot and full on in the kitchen, so I will look forward to my evening walk with Bundy, to relax and let the day go.
Stay strong folks.
Keep going.
MuchLove

Hi Kaitoa, I'm really pleased that you tried that salad of mine. And even more so that you, and apparently others, liked it. I'm sure it would have been equally good with almonds. (-:
Its been a very hot day here today, not at all conducive to exercise. But once the sun set, I did do my 15 mins on the exercise bike. A bit harder today than it was yesterday, but I still completed the time I set myself. So all good.
Shelley, you havent been on for a few days, I hope you are okay?
Kaitoa - I envy you being at the cricket for the upcoming Pakistan / Australia Brisbane test. Wish I was there too. Not to work .... but to watch. Although being a day / nighter, I will be able to see most of it after work tomorrow. Go Aussies .......

Nice Taurus! 👍
We do what we can, when we can...and make the most of those moments.
You're doing really well.
And, no apparently about it...me flatmates and friends thoroughly enjoyed the salad.
Thanks again. 😋
Cricket is just not my sport at all but it's always fun at the live games!. 🏏
Hey Shell and everyone here, I hope all is well with you beautiful peeps, if not, just know that we are here for you.✌️
MuchLove

Hi Everyone,
It has been a while since I posted in here, I haven't done much exercise at all. Today though I went along to the gym. I rode the cross trainer for 15 minutes and the exercise bike for 15 minutes. I also used some equipment with weights, I am.unsure as to what they were called. But one was holding onto a bar above and pulling it down. Glad I went today! Yeah

Hi Shelley Anne,
most days I try and do 90 minutes of stuff. Usually I take my little dog for a walk. On another day I will go for a slow ride and for Xmas I brought myself a fandaggled rowing machine. I try and mix it up. I used to be a runner many years ago and as a result my knees are stuffed and my hip was resurfaced a few years back. I find walking with my pooch most beneficial, nice and safe. I'm trying to loose weight and it's taken so so long to even contemplate excercise. Some days I potter around the garden as well. It all helps 🙂

I have been walking most days. Missed Christmas day. Yesterday I went for a swim across alake near us for a change. I tried to get my husband to come as he used to enjoy swimming but he only got his calfs wet before getting out saying it was too cold. He stopped swimming because he can't see but I promised him I would guide him & the odd time he has actually got into the water he's enjoyed it but then something happens so he can't get in for ages & the fears come back. He also worries about infections but in this weather that shouldn't be an issue & he hasn't had surgery recently so there are no wounds to worry about. I miss swimming together.
We went for a walk together on Monday but overdid it. My husband was overtired when we got home but we both enjoyed most of the walk. On our way back the sun was setting making beautiful colours & interesting patterns in the cloud. I tried to describe them to my husband as he is blind but couldn't do justice to the beauty.

Hi Igbran,
Sorry about your knees, I don't know much about running. When I have heaps of energy, I can manage a slow jog for a little while. How are you going on the rowing machine? Does it give you a good workout? Anyway good on you!

Because someone has asked me to join them at the gym, well I went along today again. I quite enjoyed it. First I went on the cross trainer for 20 minutes. It has a screen that you watch on the front where you can sort of follow a trail through bush land. And I walked on the treadmill for 10 minutes.
