We can do it BBers, we can do self-care.

Sleepy21 pointed out research that shows self-care REALLY helps!

Please share what you do for self-care so we can get inspiration, ideas and motivation to do it too.

Best wishes
EM

Hey shirlld!

A warm welcome to the BB forums, thankyou for sharing your lovely self-care!

How nice is it being on holidays?
Happy to hear you had lunch out with your wife and got some relaxation time in too.

Nice ones. Welceom again.

My self-care ummm (lol):

~ took all the kids and myself to the Chiropractor today

~ stood up for myself (and the kids) with some ignorant statements made to us - it's the WEEK for it quirky!

~ spent some last minute quality time with p.son, he went back down South this afternoon - trying to nurse my heart, it's heavy when he leaves. Praying he stays safe and rushes back to us soon!! I'm SO grateful he spent a week with us! We had lots of great times together. He's such a lovely boy.

Thanks for being here everyone, it's such a lovely place to be.

Love EM🌈🌴💖

Hi everyone,

Wow I'm reading everyone's self care, which is inspiring and lovely and makes me want to slow down.... and today I'm stumped!

I guess today has been about others, which is ok.

I took an early call from my BFF, which I felt honoured to be on the receiving end of her vulnerability.

I did the GST, which was weighing on H's mind

I 'encouraged' T to bake cupcakes for some friends down the road, to say thanks for a massive generousity. We delivered them and a bottle of wine to the door. ( She did such a great job!)

I sorted out a new phone plan, cos a certain provider is not worth it's name! Ridiculous! So, happy now, cos my phone will actually work.

There's so many things I didn't do for myself today, but I still get to come on here and chat, and thats a good thing.

Cheers,

J*

Thanks!

Hello EM and All. NO self care for me yesterday. I'm absolutely disgusted with myself. Ate all the wrong food (was yummy all the same) Nothing wholesome or nutritious and will certainly pay the price for eating all the wrong food. My body is already screaming at me right now due to lack of self control. I suffer from severe food reactions and food intolerances. That's what happens when those ugly triggers resurface. I thought I was going rather well. Not the case.

New day tomorrow so "wipe the slate clean and start again". No need to punish myself about a set back.. so back to the basics. I need to drink Buckets of natural spring water to try to remove the toxins from my body asap Perhaps some natural green tea too. It's a start. Breathing heavy due to food reactions.

A new day tomorrow . Thank you for your optimistic outlook EM by encouraging Everyone on this fantastic thread by EM 🙂 With kind regards.

Three self-care things today:

1) Painted my nails (shimmery orange - so pretty!)

2) Will make a homemade lunch - I am looking forward to it! 🙂

3) I will visit my friend tonight and go out for dinner!

Hey J* and Malaika

Easy easy .... woah there ladies! It's all good!

I'm feeling rather drained after yesterday too - must've been "in the stars" lol...

But what I DID do was:

~ get OUT of bed

~ EAT

~ come on to the forums... not for long yesterday but that's all fine too.

SO did YOU BOTH TOO, so HIGH FIVE!

There are positive ways to look at our actions any day and that's the rub!

There's no room for perfectionism anywhere, please not HERE either lol!

We're "interrupting" that thought pattern remember?

Congratulate yourself for ANY positive thought and action, give yourself PERMISSION.
If you need a 'Permission Slip' from me then I'll give it to you LOL!

Today I woke VERY early at 3am after falling asleep VERY early last night lol.
I went back to bed to have a nap about 8am but was woken by a Roofing guy who's coming to look at our roof THIS afternoon, yay!
He sounds super positive he can do the jobs, he's done LOTS in our area, so that's something.
I contacted 7 firms this week - only 1 came to do a quote

Enough of our roof capers.. stay tuned! It's nail biting stuff lol.

Hi all,

Oh you're so positive Em! How do you do it?!! I must say tho, that day when it all seemed to be about others wasn't a bad day. I guess it's the glow you get when you do things for others. You know that one Em, you're constantly doing for others!

Glad your roof is getting the attention it needs, thats awesome!

So true what you say tho, sometimes just getting up, wiping a bench or feeding the animals is about all I get done. Apart from being mum and wife, listening and being company, keeping my self regulated with some good food and maybe a tiny bit of some relaxing activity, whether it a tv program late at night, or walking the dog on the beach, or reading my book while I have lunch. All of that in one day sounds good to me! But I think I will have to lower my expectations, I won't have time when I'm working. I can see time off is going to be very precious! Altho it's funny, I'm doing housework differently now, probably getting little things done when I think of it, or see it, rather than putting it off.

Today I had to let go of any grand plans of achievement- it was stressing me out! So I made myself available for T and her friend, while they painted rocks-very pretty too! Did the washing, and put some cold happy buns on to rise. Washed up. Made lunch.

And I came on here.

Misstep that shimmery orange is beautiful on you! So cheerful!

And Malaika, that sux about your food intolerances flaring up. I can understand a little bit, from my own perspective. I have resisted cakes for nearly two weeks now, and no headaches, except for a monthly one last nite, which got better as soon as I napped in front of the tv (couldn't go to bed cos the kids were still up). I'm hoping I may have found a key to well being- for me at least. It's lucky I love cakes made with almond meal! They seem to agree with me.

Cheers everyone,

J*
