SLEEP

Hi All,

In the past there may have been threads on sleep and how to improve our quality of sleep.

I am starting this thread up and hope to include past thread titles.

For some of us sleep is a real issue, the more we can learn about it the better informed we will be.

Funny stories on weird places you have fallen asleep are welcome as well.

For me, I had just moved house and was very busy getting everything organised. Friends invited me to the drag races. I was so tired and exhausted that I sat down, leant against the fence right near the starting line and fell asleep for most of the evening.

Hope to read some of your stories and tips.

Cheerio for now, from Mrs. Dools

I should elaborate.....Paul I think the sleeping hot thing is a guy thing! Not the allergy to cats!

Perhaps I should read all the posts before replying! Menopause disrupts sleep too? I don't sleep enough as it is! I'm not there yet but when it starts....I'll come a knocking for advice....from Mrs Dools that is, Paul!

Its great to have a giggle at 4:59am Pet and thankyou:-) Paulx

Speaking of feathers and sleeping, how on earth do chooks manage to sleep on a perch and not fall off when they are asleep?

They have feathers right, so they should be toasty warm at nights. I do worry about my chooks on these cold nights!

Paul, did I miss something earlier on?

Nice to have you on board Petra. By the way, don't start worrying about menopause now, you may not even realise you are going through it when it happens. Some women breeze through.

Cheers from Mrs. Dools

Last night I didn't sleep very well at all.

I decided I would let our cat sleep on our bed!

Big Mistake. I didn't sleep very well at all as the cat walked all over me for most of the night. Then she would come up to my face and swipe my nose! Ha. Ha.

It was too cold to get out of the warm bed and put her somewhere else!

That won't be happening tonight.

Hi Mrs Dools

Just fyi, this morning at 10am on 3AW they had a health professional from Monash University taking calls for 1 hour on sleep and help even with physiological reasons for poor sleep. I tried to get through and give BB and your thread a plug but they were inundated with calls.

Great thread Mrs Dools...keep it going 🙂 Paulx

Hey Mr Woof! Is that the word 'courage' I see on you post pic? I haven't got my glasses on! If so...I love it.

Mrs Dools - I empathise with you re your cat. The fur children can be sleep spoilers especially our felines, they just keep on, and on at you, despite your unhappy tone with each effort for your attention. Dogs are better at doing what they're told in my experience, and go back to sleep when they hear you're none pleased!

Hope you get a better sleep tonight.

Pet 😊

Hey Paul,

Thanks for that! This forum certainly is amazing isn't it! Using one of my Dad's words, I am "chuffed" that you thought about this thread when listening to the radio session regarding poor sleep.

As the radio station was inundated with calls, it just goes to show how much of a problem lack of sleep or even too much sleep is for people!

Thanks again Paul!

Cheers form Mrs. Dools

Hi Petra and All,

Our dear cat really is quite active when she is on the bed! I used to have a cat that would just cuddle up and stay by my feet all night, not this one!

When we have people staying here, we shut the cat in the laundry with about three lots of bedding to choose from. We don't want her walking all over our guests during the night. Ha. Ha.

I would have slept better the last couple of nights if it was not for the cold I have come down with. Oh well, there is always tonight!

Cheers all from Mrs. Dools
