Hi,

How as a society/group promote a better environment in a workplace/public to help others who are finding things difficult and not sharing to have better outcomes.

Hello Gen

Do you mean having a more understanding workplace where having a mental disorder is concerned and discussing ways that help people/staff with difficulties?

Unfortunately there are many companies that are too focused on profit than mental health.

In society groups like Beyond Blue are striving to 'educate' the populous that mental health is as real as a physical disability.

Hi Blondguy,

Yes, although most workplaces have access to a service who could help with personal/work issues it is difficult taking the first steps. Making a comfortable place for people to go and chat so they have release/direction to supports.

More community spaces to do the same sort of thing. The spirit in community is crying out for improvement.

As i feel there is more room for this sort of thing to stop pressures building up so we could work towards better outcomes.

Holding some hope we are moving towards change for better environments for people.

Hey Gen, Paul here....thanks for posting back.

You have really brought up a great topic with workplaces (and communities) having a service that actually does care for people with any issues, personal or health wise.

The communities we live in do have a lot more support than they used to which is great but workplaces seem to have a long way to go as most of them are profit motivated not health focused unfortunately.

Your thinking is spot on though Gen, we need workplaces and the communities to have a greater focus where our mental health is concerned.

Even though you may not know it, you are making a huge difference by your input on the forums here. These forums are public and the bulk of the hits to the BB are readers only (which is okay of course) So whatever you post is read by many more people than you know.

Great topic Gen
