My strategies for the Easter long weekend:
Log on to the BB website and read all the posts so I don't fel like I'm on my own.
Fold out the divan in the lounge room and pile on the doona and pillows to facilitate spontaneous napping.
Give the cats extra cuddles and belly rubs.
Buy a gorgeous chocolate cake from the french bakery that I can slowly work my way through over the next 4 days. Chocolate being one of the 5 main food groups and therefore an excellent choice for breakfast
Have lots of books, DVD's and crosswords on hand. Not very rock'n'roll I know, but it makes me happy.
Buy enough Thai food for 4 days so I don't have to cook or wash too many dishes
Ensure that my baking supplies are fully stocked in case I get the urge to bake something.
Trawl the internet for funny utube videos.
Hope you all have a safe and happy Easter.

Oh Stitch, I think this is my first post to you - but holy smoke, you sure have me typing this with a smile on my face. And that's thanx to your post. It was a ripper.
Loved the paragraph about chocolate cake being amongst the 5 main food groups! 🙂 Classic stuff. 🙂
One thing you've missed off is the big chocolate easter egg or chocolate easter bunny!! 🙂 🙂
And so as I write this, it's Saturday evening, so we're approximately 1/2 way through this wonderful extra long weekend - Stitch, I hope your plans are unfolding for you as you'd planned them too?
Kind regards
Neil

dear Stitch, well it's now Sunday and I hope your strategies are still working out the way you want them to go.
Thai food for 4 days, a great idea but I still have to feed Moo-Moo my dog and take her down to the park, but she loves being under the doona, and makes so many noises until she settles down for asleep, and at present it's 6.55am, been down to the park, the heaters on and she's still asleep, only until I rattle the car keys.
What happens if you eat the chocy cake before the end of Easter, well if I made a cake I would eat the mix before it went into the oven. Geoff.

Half way through the long weekend and things are working out just fine. Had a chat with one of the BB online support workers last night & felt much better.
Let me tell you about the chocolate cake.
"Giandujia chocolate mousse, feuilletine, flourless almond sponge, joconde sponge.
Bit of a flowery description but it's basically a chocolate sponge base, chocolate mousse with crunchy chocolate bits inside, wrapped in a chocolate sponge and topped with more chocolate. It's from Laurent bakery in Melbourne and a special treat for myself at Xmas & Easter. Also, when things are particularly bleak, it's the closest thing I can get to a hug.
Woke up this morning with a furry tongue & unable to breath. Thought I was having a heart attack - it was just 2 cats sitting on me. One was draped over my chest legs & paws akimbo, snoring like a bulldozer. The other one was wrapped around my face with a paw inside my (drooling) ,mouth. Lovely way to wake up.
The Easter bunny did not visit this year but I've made sure that my first aid kit is fully stocked with a variety of Lindt chocolate treats.
Geoff, the trick to baking a cake is to make 2 batches. One to go in the oven and the other to eat from the bowl - spoon is optional.
Must go now, I feel a nap coming on . . . .
