Hi eloop

I also live with chronic illness and am slowly facing permanent disability, so I truly understand and empathise with your situation. I’m very sorry that you are facing such challenges. Hugs to you.

I don’t know where you are in your journey, but I remember feeling a great sense of fear, loss and hopelessness after my initial diagnosis. Fearing a slide into depression, I chose to see a psychologist to help me better cope and “reframe” the situation in my mind.
Neither you or I can change the situation we find ourselves in, but we can change how we react to it.

Perhaps this is something you could also consider? If so, book a double visit with your GP to obtain a Mental Health Care (MHC) plan and referral to an appropriate specialist. The MHC will enable you to receive Medicare rebates to help cover the cost of appointments with a psychologist.

Do you have a support network? I really find it helps to lean on others who care for support. It also helps to incorporate self-care into your daily routine. For example, simply deep breathing has become part of my exercise regime.

I am happy to chat more, so please post anytime.

Kind thoughts to you
