How do I stay motivated?

Hey there,
So currently I'm really struggling with life. I feel as though I am watching life happen before me and I'm just a passenger.

With everything happening in the world currently I know it is hard not o feel like This but surely there is something that could help and make life not seem so bleak.

I think that lack of social interaction has really got to me as I do live alone. I am finding it take a massive toll on my mental health and well being and I feel as though talking to my family or friends about it I burden them.

What are you guys doing during this Time to stay human and sane?
Any suggestions are welcome as I feel so lost right now

Im sorry your struggling with this forced isolation..

I also live alone and am finding it hard with my mental health and well being...I haven’t seen nor spoken to anyone face to face for so long...

I try hard to distract myself from the intense loneliness I’m feeling...by gardening, playing iPad games, deep cleaning cupboards and house, music and singing along with it...Maybe you have or can find something that you like doing to keep your mind busy...

There is a thread on here called....”Coping with the Coronavirus..Where community members are helping to support each other through this hard time we’re all going through..if you search it in the search bar..top of this page..your very welcome to join in the conversation, ask questions or help others if you feel up to it...its a very caring thread..as all the amazing people are here...

Im please that you posted here and started up your own thread..that takes a lot of courage...Well done lovely Redcat...

Hi Redcat96,

It definitely is a difficult time at the moment and I feel as though it can magnify our emotions and feelings and can impact our mental health.

I like to really make sure I have a self-care plan in place for when I'm starting to feel anxious or low. I really have thought about the things that make me happy or at least calm and try to implement them as needed. For example:

  • Watching Netflix
  • Reading a book
  • Colouring in (lots of great free designs online)
  • Drawing
  • Playing video games
  • Going for a walk around the neighbourhood
  • Meditation
  • Cleaning the house
  • Lighting a candle
