Lets hear the stories from those battling their way through recovery. What obstacles have or are you facing? How do they make you feel? Give yourself a moment, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Open your eyes and look at your surroundings and nothing more. Slow down and live. You can get better. You are not alone. This is why we come here. Reset yourselves, and start again. Learn how we all work differently and individually. Listen to your mind and body and ask yourself what you can do to recover. To smile. To be happy. Find your strengths. Dont concentrate on HOW the issues are affecting you. Think HOW can I do this for ME?

I myself struggle daily, but Im not giving up. Im standing up and I'm fighting. For my life and my happiness.

I am a man trapped inside of a females body. I am a lesbian. I have a family and carried our beautiful daughter. I have been diagnosed with BPD, depression, anxiety, post-natal and a few more. I cannot remember the last 12 months of my life. Our daughter is 5 months old. I have run away and abandoned my family a few times now. Out of fear.

But I am more than this, and I deserve more. I love my fiancé, and I love our daughter. I plan to have more children with my partner. I plan many things with her. I plan many things for us. I plan for myself. Im not walking out again, this is MY life.

This is YOUR life. Live YOUR life.

Hi Tommie

Thank you for coming to Beyond Blue and I'd like to extend a warm welcome to you.

When I first read your subject, I was going to guide you to many other areas of Beyond Blue where there lots of posts from others who have provided good news and uplifting stories.  Sure there's not as many of them as there are unfortunately bad news stories, but they are there.

I do like your post though, and it's got a strong undertone of strength and conviction from you about your future, as well as extending that philosophy to others on this site as well.  Even despite all the troubles that you're facing yourself.

It was good to read.

Kind regards

Neil

Hi Tommy,

Thank you so much for your post. It sounds very much like your braving your way through life despite your troubles. You are not your past, you are now and you will be whatever you make your future.

Yesterday I lacked motivation to get out of bed. Today I still felt rather off yet I pushed myself and ended up spending the day with my partner at the zoo. It was incredible to be in touch with nature, and it made me feel just a little more human once more.

I always get inspired hearing of people who have chosen to have children despite their mental struggles. My partner and I are in the planning stages now, and sometimes I question whether I can really do it, look after someone else and myself. People like you remind me I can. So thank you:)

Take care

Hi Tommie,

Welcome here.  I like many here have ups and downs. So when I am up I celebrate with happy/funny poems and when I'm down I write sad poetry.

So, want a laugh?  Click on the poetry thread. There are also poems from posters that are truly wonderful.

Loved your post. Good luck to you and your family.
