Dear Butterfly 123~
I've not had delusional disorder but have been told that some results I had from PTSD were dissociative. Mainly forgetting matters and not remembering them until a very long time later, and also being divorced from myslef and body as if standing on the other side of a glass window looking at myself.
My psych told me, when I was remembering events, that it was because I'd now been in a better place and could deal with them - he said that was good. Well maybe for him. Things did settle down and the memories while disruptive and unpleasant do not rule.
The disassociation no longer happens. I do still take meds, having been also diagnosed with anxiety and bouts of depression, however the regimen is a pretty good fit and does not really have a down side.
I read your post to TonyWhiteKnight and agree, we accept it and keep going. I'm in a pretty good place nowadays.
Do you have anyone to lean on when things are not so good. I'm lucky that way and it makes a big difference.
