It's my birthday...

Yes, that's right, another birthday... Some days are miracles.

I seem to stop and think every year of what it is like for the generations younger then me. It has gotten better but the risks are still 5 times higher and worse than our opposite sex attracted peers. There is so much need for change for trans people. Changes like marriage would send a message that queer people belong in our society. We could take sex and gender out of so many documents because it doesn't need to be there - a name is enough.

So for my birthday the greatest gift would be for even a few to reach out to another LGBTI person and offer friendship and support. We all matter.

Happy birthday to me.

I've ended the day feeling sad. I wonder if I were different to this, would I be alone? I keep wondering why I can't be normal.

Hi Gruffudd

i am sorry u had such a bad day on your birthday. You said  in your post i wonder  if I were different to this, would I be alone? I keep wondering why I can't be normal. .

my question to you what is normal? Is it the way the world sees you? Or the the way the world expects u to act? Or is it acting like the person u was created to be? Because if every one wants  the same in this life the world be a boring place. Please do not be Ashamed to be the person who you are. I know it is easier said then but don't let other people run u down for the person u chose to be. We only live once so we should enjoy life and not let other people  or their expectations on the person  you should be ruin it for us....

i hope u have a better day tomorrow

take care....

dear Gruffudd, it doesn't matter what sex you are, because birthdays come around every year for everyone, the worst part is that we get another wrinkle, another year older, but that doesn't stop us from learning something new each day or each year, so Happy Birthday to you. Geoff.

Thank you Sparkles and Geoff,

6 hours of driving and I am in Melbourne for the long weekend where I definitely am not the only gay in the village. A little time shopping and heading into Hares and Hyenas will do me the world of good...

Happy birthday, Gryff!!!!

Another years wiser, another stage completed...whatever you do, don't lose sight of your mission, your life purpose to help other people to become aware. They all need you so badly!

Just by being your true, loving, sensitive self, you are standing up for all of us...I for one am so grateful to you for sticking your neck out and being our hero. And yes, it's hard sometimes, depending on lots of things. It sounds like you live in a country area, where bigotry and fear are more visible. I'm so happy to know you're here in the big smoke today, where you and I can relax and be our selves.

And thank you for your birthday gift...I accept it with gratitude. It's so warming to know that within your sadness is a heartfelt wish for equality and acceptance for the rest of us...
