On Wednesday 10th may I stopped a woman from attempting suicide. She was very upset. I told her I was going to phone the police and get her help. I had to talk to the police and the woman at the same time as well as being attacked. The police arrived after 15 minutes and told me to take a deep breath and go home. I fell apart and cried all the way home. I was very emotional for most of the next day until I got counselling through headspace. I'm still quite emotional and find getting to sleep really difficult. The counselling has been really good and helpful.

Hi Darah, welcome

You did well. You'll take time to recover...give yourself time. Even when I worked in jails as a warder many years ago now I took weeks to move on from trauma. I cant be a "white knight" all the time.

I've also used CPR on two individuals. Both survived but left me an emotional wreck. Sometimes being fragile is just the way we're wired. Then again we could well be normal. The bottom line is, we suffer but we have to do what is required of us.

Time is the best healer. Smile at yourself, you deserve it.

Hi I am new here but you did a very courageous thing by helping this person and I wish you all the best. You went through a hard time seeing this you have saved a life. You will be going through a type of grief and grief is sometimes very hard to deal with but you are a hero a real hero and you should be very proud of yourself. Keep seeking help it might take a while but keep your chin up and hold your head high cause there's not many people like you out there. And good luck with everything I hope you feel better soon
