Hi there,
Welcome back to the forums and my heart goes out to you today. It's hard with holidays knowing that a loved one isn't here today and wishing they were. I guess the thing you can do is be with others people you love and keep his memory alive especially on this occasion.
I relate to your longing for not struggling and wishing to go back. Sometimes these feelings come up when we're feeling down and negative thoughts can easily spiral. I remind myself that everybody struggles and it is ok to struggle and maybe you can too. It's ok to feel how you feel and it's not your fault. Maybe you can practice some self-care and do something you enjoy today to make you feel a little lighter.
Sending love to you and take care,
PsychDiaries
