How can we improve the Forums?

This discussion is a space for all members to share suggestions and ideas to improve the Forums. This can be anything. Navigation, notifications, topics and themes, moderation, community rules, or something else!

 

We'd love to hear about what you think we can do better. We are really grateful to everyone who has contributed their ideas already, and we're always keen to hear more.

Thanks Sophie.  When I go onto the other forum I am on, which is mostly people over 50 years of age (nothing to do with MH) - below the heading with the name of the forum is every subheading - each topic - eg. current affairs/general discussions/retirement/financial/welcome and introduction/ etc etc.  Opposite each sub-heading the most recent post is listed, along with the avatar of the person who posted.  All I have to do is click on that avatar to read that person's comments and see all the other comments there on that topic.

This is so nice and clear, as soon as I log on I can see who is there and when they posted and what is being discussed, over the entire forum.  I wish we could have something as easy to negotiate as this please!

Your other forums model sounds ideal.

It sounds easy to use and one can see the most recent post at a glance.

I wasn't going to worry about this but I read somewhere of an alumni champion had lost that badge which now has been sorted which I'm pleased for her.

I noticed some badges are still there in some profiles but thought it might have been something that was intended.

Certainly not a major or priority. Only mentioning now because it sounds like it wasnt meant.

Is it possible to get to the latest threads on the "All Discussions" page without clicking on a particular section, like it used to be?

Quirky...The old..Old Posts, New Posts, My Threads was easy to follow. It had all recent discussions I had been involved it.  Now it contains only the threads I myself have started....and goes back right to the beginning when I joined!!  I cannot fathom how someone like BB can give its vulnerable members, some of whom are made much worse when confronted with this huge "change"   Change...terrifies a lot of us!

How could they intentionally rip away this enormous sense of security, healing, comfort and indeed life saving method of sharing, venting, seeking written support and love from others who have become "friends"?  I miss it terribly....If only I could find my old "MyThreads" section again...ie. the threads I have been active on, including my own......Its like being on helpful medication from my GP and suddenly taken away from me....leaving me without this life saving service......very upset about this.

Re others being able to read "my profile"....I thought we were all anonymous on here.  Oh no, I definitely don't want anyone to read my profile.  I am considering leaving the forum altogether if this is accurate....what an abuse of trust!!
