Where do I start??

Hi I have just joined and hoping to get some guidance on getting through my days. I just turned 55 and I sometimes feel like a fraud feeling like the way I do. I have a fantastic family, a good job and a lovely home, outside looking in it looks great, but from where I stand. Not so good. I struggle everyday with the simplest of tasks. Getting out of bed, showering, cleaning the house. My husband is amazing, it's our 25th wedding anniversary tomorrow and I have nothing planned, and that is making me feel worse..not even a card. I work from home so I don't need to leave the house, so I don't go shopping.

Please give me some pointers on how to get through my days better

Hi

Welcome to BB. First things first. You really need to go and see a GP and tell them what you have told us. They can properly diagnose you. Atm i would only be guessing.

Congrats 25 thats a biggie. Not to late though to surprise him.( Love online shopping) think what he likes doing ie golf, watching sport then get him a surprise package deal or tickets. Special cuddles is allways what most men want as well.

Your starting on a amazing journey of self discovery now and I'm so proud of you posting so please let us know how things go.

Thanks for responding Bethie, I am on medication, which is a scary thought as I sometimes think what would I be like with out it 😊 I have been in them a while now, back to Drs on Wednesday. Might need to do a review.

I bombed out today, I had problems with working from home and was supposed to go into office. Couldn't do it.

Planning on going for a walk tonight, always sounds so much easier than actually doing it

hugs

Hi Fairmist,

What are some things that you like to do just for yourself? How many days a week do you practice self love?

Its so easy to feel the pressure to be happy when there is nothing physically, financially or emotionally wrong. But sometimes I feel that we aspire to a common goal of happiness rather than our own true feeling of happiness.

I think self care and self love are not easy but maybe the first things we should try on a road to a better place. It's hard to offer small things to do to feel a little better without knowing the depth of your situation.

Keep reaching out, keep looking for an answer that speaks to you.

Started off great today, set small tasks, felt good once completed them.

baby steps for me rather than feeling completely overwhelmed.
