What's wrong with me?

I don't know what is wrong with me. I start to cry randomly and often I can't even comprehend why I am crying. From the outside, my life seems near perfect but I am not happy. I haven't been happy for quite some time. Its not constant. I can go about my daily life, but I am not happy inside. If you asked why I was crying at any given moment, I probably wouldn't be able to tell you. I want to stop feeling like this.

Hi Shestrying123

I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling like this. Life can definitely get pretty messy and upsetting when we can't quite put our finger on why our mind and body are doing what they're doing.

Crying is considered a form of energy release. The question becomes 'What is the energy you're releasing?' Whether it involves stress, hormones, a desire to let go of an old aspect of self or something altogether different, your body is doing this for a reason. Yes, we're definitely quirky creatures, incredibly puzzling to our self at times.

Whilst crying can feel quite draining, wondering if you're also feeling a little drained for some other reason at the moment. People and situations can certainly drain us without us even realising, until something clicks. Then one may say 'Actually, I feel like this person is draining the life out of me' or 'This mundane job is draining the life and enthusiasm out of me. I think it's time for an empowering change'. In other cases, maybe we're putting way to much energy into what we're doing and the challenge becomes about balancing things with some form of active relaxation. Going to the gym and letting out stress, going for a relaxing walk after and intense day or even taking up meditation to help empty the mind can become considerations. If a need for change is the issue, taking up something very simple (not necessarily time consuming) can help with the transition into a new self.
