Hi, recently I have been feeling really pessimistic but I don't know how to change it. (By the way I'm not going to start self harm or commit suicide, just thinking)
Just after self isolation started, I starting really thinking about this, whats the point?
I feel like there is no point to go on. We are all going to die anyways so whats the point of living? Nothing really matters because its all going to go away. It doesn't even matter if we make a huge impact on this world, because we are going to be forgotten- the human species is going to go extinct some time in the future- even if its really far away- the whole universe will drift apart and there will be no light. So there is no point to earth even existing let alone me- a tiny little speck in this giant universe. I sometimes feel like us humans shouldn't exist either- there is so much suffering that it would be better off without anything at all.
I feel like there isn't a point to keep on struggling with good grades, keeping up with friends and exercising because I am going to die anyways.
I kinda just want to give up.
Another reminder, I have no interest in self harm or committing suicide.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I have been in the same mind frame as you before and in a logical perspective, yes at some point in life we will die.
But life is very beautiful and it is a roller coaster.
Some days can be bad, some days can be amazing.
'Life' has a funny perception around it as meant to be 'easy' but i think it should be thought of as a challange instead. Strive to do great things that you may think are unachievable and if not achieved, then learn to fail and be proud of your efforts.
If you can find passion and purpose then I believe that your outlook on life will be greatly changed.
You're doing so well, keep going.

Hello Cassie,
A warm welcome to the Beyond Blue Forums...
I am sorry to hear that you are trying to find the point..
There is so much In between being born and dying...
You, me and everyone might just be a tiny speck in the universe..but we are all connected in some way..
No one’s life is meaningless, although we are small in comparison to the universe, we have an impact, every tiny thing you have done is like a chain reaction..In helping the world and its people...
Lets say you bought a dress..by buying that dress, you have helped the shop, the dressmaker, the material maker, the cotton pickers, the cotton growers, and the cotton seed producers...This goes for everything we do..
There is so much beauty in this world, and with your friends..having fun with them, playing sport, walking in nature, swimming in the ocean at the beach..So many fun times to be had..
Isolation, has temporarily taken away the fun thing you do with your friends..your freedom to go where you want to..once this is over and your out and about enjoying life, these thoughts hopefully will ease off or stop for you...
What type of things do you like to do to keep busy..Doing things we like keeps our mind busy and away from the thoughts you’re having..
Don’t give up dear Cassie, their is so much beauty in this universe, in your life...Please talk here when your feeling up to it..We are here to try to talk through your concerns...we care about you and you matter to us..
Sitting with you with a listening ear and open heart..
Grandy..
