Waking up feeling weird in the head.

Ok everything I’m gonna say think of it as not psychically.
So I sometimes wake up and my head feels like there’s a loud sound inside it (again not literally) I don’t know how to explain it I don’t feel pain, I don’t know why I would be scared, I don’t hear noises or have any psychicall symptoms just want to hold my head and I squeeze my eyes tight! My heart would sometimes be pounding and other times not. I tend to be ok falling asleep I just lose track of my thoughts quickly and have I have more awareness of my pre sleep visions which can sometimes cause me distress. But anyway my head all of a sudden after waking up just feels like it’s vibrating (not literally) kinda like I’m stuck in my own head but I’m not actually thinking of anything besides “calm down your fine” it doesn’t last to long and I can get back to sleep fine. I tried to explain it to my psych but she didn’t really give me any idea what it is. Hope someone can help
thanks

Hi Allymay,
That sounds full on! I'm not sure exactly what it is, even though you did a good job of describing it. I know that you said it wasn't physical but sometimes physical things (like a silent migrain, low/high blood pressure or sleep apnea) can feel super weird. How is your actual sleep at night?
It may feel like you don't want to go to the GP about it because it is so hard to describe/ feels non-physical, but sometimes they can have an idea. How often do you get these weird wake ups?

What you’re going through at the moment sounds very scary and distressing. Even though you describe it as not being physical, it seems to be manifesting itself in a way that is deeply affecting you. How long has this been going on for?
I agree with Alana_H, it is hard to know what this is. There is a possibility it is one of the things Alana_H mentioned, such as migraines. To me, it sounds like it could be a symptom of anxiety. Anxiety has this funny way of manifesting itself in weird ways in our bodies that don’t seem like they can be explained. Maybe look at any patterns of when these loud noises occur? Is there something that happens before, or are there recurrent thought patterns that bring it on?
I know that your psych hasn’t been able to shed any light on this, however, a visit to the GP may be a good idea to see if they have any ideas about what’s happening for you.
Please feel free to write back here if you have anything else you want to chat about or if you gain any insight into the problem that you want to share with us.

Hey thanks for getting back so soon. I’m i used to get it every night before I went to bed before I started my medication. I would hear things that I wasn’t sure if they were real, I would lose my thoughts easily and overthink so it was common GAD symptoms I think, but now I hardly get them. Like I’ve had it once in the last month. And I’m not thinking of anything I just wake up feeling it maybe I was having a dream that I don’t remember that brought it on. I don’t feel overall scared I just try and calm myself down and focus and it goes away and I can get back to sleep fine. I sleep well I do have a bad sleep schedule though bed by 3am and wake up around 12pm. During these times I get ringing in my ears. Like I said I don’t feel anything or hear anything besides the ringing in my ears but my head just feels like it’s been flooded. If I open my eyes my vision is also sometimes blurry. But I think that’s because I’m tired and my anxiety is making it worse. I do get headaches but they don’t really hurt just pressure and rarely I get sharp ice pick headaches but doctor told me that’s from my body being tense and such. Hope some of this helps I think your right that it’s just my anxiety manifesting itself. I’ll check with my gp again but I think she’ll just say it’s my GAD
thanks again
