Support Buddies

Hi,

I’m currently struggling with depression.

I’m burnt out from pushing career and not living the kind of life that would actually make me happy.
my support group is weak. Some acquaintances but nobody I could really call a good friend that can help with this.

I’m hoping to connect with people. Talk and help each other.

Hi H45H,

Thank you for reaching out, and I warmly welcome you to the forums.

Depending on where you live, there are Facebook groups that you can join where members form online relationships with each other. Meet-ups are possible, so long as they're done in a safe and conscientious manner.

Online friendships are another great way to build your support network. Once again, with Internet safety in mind. Places like Discord in particular allow you the opportunity to make online friends with people who share common interests, passions, have similar experiences, or similar backgrounds.

Are you interested in sport at all? Have a little Google search if there's a sport you're interested in, and you may be able to join a sporting club in your area.

Joining volunteer organisations (if you have the capacity to) can also be a great way to make new connections. What are your interests? Do you have any causes or charities that you're passionate about?

As always, please continue to chat with us if you'd like, we're here to offer our support.

Take care, SB

I work between Canberra and Adelaide, any recommendations for those facebooks groups in either city?

I am speaking to a therapist, but time between sessions can be a bit much for me.

Hi,

I’m in a pretty similar position. I’d be keen to chat.
