Anyone else feel so lonely? I have no one who understands what it's like to be suffering.

Absolutely, all the time. But, I’ve come to find some sort of peace in the loneliness. I’ve come to a sense of gratitude that with all that I’m going through, I don’t have to deal with those around me trying to help me with something they can’t even understand.
I’m sorry that you feel so lonely because no matter how grateful you could be, being lonely and having to suffer so much by yourself is overwhelming and unfair. Reach out and take that step to talk to someone trustworthy. Don’t let yourself go lonely for too long

Hi All,
I did attend the lunch gathering yesterday. It was run by a Church group, the only "Churchy" thing that happened was someone said grace before we ate.
It was a friendly group of people, about 20 came and went. There was a child and the oldest would have been about 80. It is obviously a place where people feel comfortable to just come and be with others and chat.
There was a craft activity organised for before lunch if you wanted to join in, or games to play. Some people just came for lunch and left again. A place to go to feel less lonely.

Hi All,
Today I wanted to feel a little less lonely so I walked down tot he post office. I had a bit of a look in the Op Shop and listened to other people's conversations, I didn't say anything other than hello to a couple of ladies.
I sat in a park and looked around to see if anyone was about the place. I saw a couple of ladies in different directions walking their dogs. I sat and read a book for a while. At least I was out of the house and not in my own head the whole day.

Hi Emotions26,
Thanks for sharing how you are feeling. Loneliness can be intense as you have written.
I try to find things to do that help release the strength of those feelings.
It does feel a little strange at times writing here and not receiving an immediate response, please know people are reading and do care for how you are feeling.
I hope you are able to find ways to acknowledge your loneliness, your emotions around that and to find ways to ease that burden somehow.

Hello Liv1, from all the good replies, it certainly is very lonely living with depression, you can pretend to others that you may seem to be OK but behind closed doors it is truly very painful, because generally people don't understand and even if they do listen, they dispute the reasons why we feel this way.

Hi liv1,
I'm really sorry to hear you've been feeling so lonely. It's a horrible feeling. One thing that helped me a lot was an in person peer support group - I attended one for years and found it very helpful to realise there were heaps of others from all walks of life who were suffering as I was, and many who had also found there way through it.
I have also found artistic outlets (painting miniatures and music) very helpful for processing suffering. Have you ever pursued these sorts of things?
