Just looking for a little advice. I'm 62yrs old, female, no money, no home. Whilst I have a roof over my head; I am far from happy. For 8yrs, I lived on the coast of SA where there were few people. Whist I did not have a flash home, (it was a shed), I had the LIFESTYLE. I had a job for a couple days a week; I had beaches to myself most days; I had nearby camping; I had wildlife - echidnas, roos, wallabies, koalas. For me, it was almost heaven. Then, due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to move. Fortunately my brother offered for me to live at his place. However. It is interstate, his home is tiny, it is not on the coast, it is too hot, it is full-on suburbia. NOTHING remotely similar to what I left behind. I've been here 6mths now and am still unhappy. My question is - how can I find happiness in a place I don't want to be? Thanks in advance....

Hello Bay Blue
It sounds like you used to have an enviable lifestyle. I would be willing to live in a shed too if I could be near all of those things you mentioned. I wish I could think of something to help you but it sounds like your options are limited at the moment. For the time being at least you have a roof over your head and not living on the streets or under a bridge. It could be worse, couldn't it? Perhaps you could ask for support from charities or organisations that might be able to help you. Just an idea. You might be lucky and catch a break. One break would be enough to maybe set off a chain reaction. I know it is easy for me to say this, but you have to remain positive and keep an open mind. I hope something works out for you.

thank you amd1953. Oh yes, things could be much much worse, I know that. And I should be grateful for what I have, I know. And I know you're right in everything you say. But I'm just struggling mentally. I know/hope things will improve - even if it is just my mindset. I have my name on govt housing list, but we all know how long that list is. And it's only fair that others would get housing before me. I so wish I could go back. Meanwhile, I have to wait for time to heal my wounds😢
