Dear Paul
Thank you for your great reply. The Black Dog is indeed a pest and needs to be taught to walk at heel.
I understand the medication problem having many in the past either with no result or horrible side effects. Been off ADs now for four months and I feel I am getting back on track. My GP insists I see a psychiatrist and I will, but only because she will be a fresh pair of eyes. Happy to discuss ADs as long as she does not push them because it's "the thing to do".
Distraction is fantastic and I use it a lot. The problem is when we run out of energy to do anything. That's when we fall over and the brain rebels against rational thought. Or tries to tell us our thoughts are rational. But the more we practice the better we get and the easier it gets, if only because we know we have beaten it before.
Keep on keeping on.
Mary
