I am experiencing really awful lows so often now and I’ve been on medication for a year and it’s not helping. I went to the gp today to ask for anything else to help fix me and she wouldn’t listen and just upped my dosage again. Honestly I feel like I’ve only got 2 years left to live because the dosage maxes out and every year it gets worse. Does anyone have anything that will cure me? Like naturopathy or scans or something? I just want to get better and it feels like I never will and what’s the point if I’m unhappy all the time and burdening others? Please somebody help me.

Hi thehumanthumb
My heart truly goes out to you. Depression can definitely be a torturous experience, impacting us in so many ways.
First thing I would suggest is changing your GP. As you've mentioned, she's not listening to you. I personally believe that a year is a little too long to be sticking with a medication that shows no signs of working (if it's the same med you've been on all along).
A second opinion can be life changing! A GP who's perhaps more experienced in dealing with mental health issues will seek out multiple possibilities in relation to your well-being. We are seriously complex creatures (with our chemistry and thought processing) who occasionally require complex solutions.
Take care thehumanthumb
