Impulsive behaviour

Hello
I'm 32 years old have struggled with depression and anxiety most of my life.

I have C.A.H and take medication daily which cause emotional distress aswell. I have found over the last few years I have become more impulsive and rushing in my decision making which can cause issues at work. I have lost confidence in myself and panic about causing an accident from not taking my time and picking up when something isn't safe.

I feel as I'm getting older my social circle is shrinking and isolation is causing my ruminating to become a crutch.

Due to my medical condition I don't respond to anti depressants and they tend to make my symptoms stronger. I'm a bit lost as to what direction to go in for help as even the medical staff are unsure what direction to take.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

hello hayden3105, welcome.

i'm sorry to hear about all of this. i'm not sure what CAH is, but i'm sorry it's causing you a lot of emotional distress, impulsive actions/thoughts, etc.

i feel like the meds i've been on (for depression etc) have made my symptoms stronger too. i thought it was just me. like it emphasises the depression if you get what i mean, so sometimes it feels 10x worse? or is that just me?

i'm sorry i can't help much. but you're not alone. i have no friends either. i know you said your social circle is getting smaller, but i can relate to that. i don't really have anyone to talk to. even on here usually.

i'm here if you need somebody. i'm sorry i can't assist much further but i do care. take care.

Thank you for kind words, some days are a real struggle and some are fine it's a rollercoaster living with these conditions. I used to go to the gym regularly and have an active social life but since living on my own ive slowly withdrawn. My family provide a solid base of support but as they are overseas I gets difficult especially during covid

you're welcome. i hope i was somewhat helpful, i'm sorry if i wasn't.

Hello Hayden, I'm with Mb20lover, I don't much at all about 'Congenital adrenal hyperplasia', I'm sorry, but would like to know a little more about its effect on your depression and anxiety, if you are happy to let us know, in the meantime I'll have a look in my some spare time.

Many thanks.

Geoff.

Hi, due to the medication I take for it heightens the fight or flight response which causes increased levels of fear in different circumstances. It gets very dibilitating. I've tried various anti depressants but they don't seem to work for me. Would love to hear if anyone has any ideas to help
